Seneca Jones Timber leads new anti-49 contributors

Seneca Oregonians In Action, the property-rights group opposing Measure 49, reported new contributions totaling $250,000 on Friday. The biggest chunk was a $163,500 donation from Seneca Jones Timber Co. of Eugene.

Oregonians In Action has raised and spent $2.2 million so far in opposing the measure, which is one of two statewide measures on the Nov. 6 ballot. The proposal would restrict development allowed under the Measure 37 property-rights law passed by voters in 2004. The Yes on 49 campaign has reported spending $4.5 million.
