Bob and April Jossy's Measure 37 Subdivision: "Orchard View Estates"

Bob and April Jossy are spokespeople for the "Stop 49" campaign.  In a letter circulated by the "Stop 49" campaign, the Jossys tell voters how Measure 49 will shut down their u-pick family farm because regulations say they can only build one home per 5 acres on their 69 acres of land, and they want to build more.  The claim that Measure 49 will shut down their u-pick business is based on the fact that, in order to build 13 homes on their property, they would have to use all 69 acres - so they wouldn't have any room left for their family u-pick farm.  Since the Jossys want to build more than 13 homes on their property, they are demanding $5 million in compensation from taxpayers unless the restrictions are waived, and they can build their subdivision.

Actually, after filing 7 different Measure 37 claims and demanding $5 million from taxpayers, Bob and April Jossy were granted Measure 37 waivers of existing regulations, and they have submitted their plans for "Orchard View Estates," a 20-lot subdivision located on their property at 31965 NW Beach Road, Hillsboro Oregon, just adjacent to Exclusive Farm Land.Sunsetorchardestates

The new subdivision will come complete with an airstrip that has taxiways from each of the homesites to the airstrip.
Each of the proposed homes would have their own wells and sanitary drain fields. Because the site is located on undeveloped land, individual private roads would be built for access. The site is bisected by an existing airstrip, with agreements between the sub-dividers and airstrip owner to provide taxiways from each of the home sites to the airstrip.
