Attorneys advised many property owners to file huge Measure 37 subdivision claims

In an article in this week's Oregonian, "Stop 49" campaign manager and 'Oregonians in Action' president, Dave Hunnicutt tells us:

"attorneys advised many property owners to file huge (Measure 37) subdivision claims only as "placeholders" to preserve future development rights."

And Hunnicutt goes on to say:

"What people asked for under Measure 37 and what they actually intend to do are two entirely different things."

This is troubling commentary from the head of the "Stop 49" campaign, and the person who was head of Oregonians in Action when they drafted Measure 37 in 2004. Oregonians in Action board members themselves have over $5 million in Measure 37 development claims, and supporters of the "Yes on 37" campaign have Measure 37 claims together demanding over $700 million from Oregon taxpayers.

The top 5 Measure 37 lawyers are handling over $300 million in Measure 37 claims.  Combined there are demands for nearly $20 billion in Measure 37 compensation across Oregon.
