Central Oregon Measure 37 Claims
Central Oregon has been particularly hard hit by Measure
37. Hood River, Wasco, Jefferson, Deschutes and
Crook Counties have a total of 671 Measure 37
claims, covering over 112,000 acres. For the sake
of comparison, the entire City of Portland covers
85,952 acres of land.

Here are just a few examples of Measure 37 Claims
in Central Oregon:

  • $513 Million in Compensation Demanded. Tom McDonald. Jefferson County. McDonald is demanding the county pays him $513 million if he is not granted permission to build a subdivision on over 5,000 acres.
  • Pumice Mine Subdivision in Newberry Crater. LPP Resources and Limited Partnership. This claim would put surface mining, geothermal power production and development of a 157-lot of residential subdivision in the Newberry Crater National Monument. If they are not allow to develop, LLP demands over $200 million from taxpayers.
