ATR Services Inc. Contributes $195,481 To Pass Measure 37, and Files Claims Worth 2,400,000
Greg Demers, owner of ATR Services Inc, and his son Robert Demers,
contributed $195,481 to get Oregon's Measure 37 passed in 2004. Once the measure
passed, the father and son duo filed compensation claims under the new law for $2,400,000.
If the county pays out the claim, the money will ultimately come out of tax-payers' pockets. If the money cannot be payed, the county will be forced to allow the Demers unrestricted development rights to the land. The $195,481 the Demers contributed to the campaign to support the measure accounted
for 12% of the total campaign’s support (from a single donor!). Under the near two and a half million dollar claim, the Demers stand to make an
outrageous 1128% return on their initial contribution.
