Stimson Lumber Contributes $300,000 to Measure 37 Campaign and Files for $269 Million in Measure 37 Compensation

Stimson Lumber Measure 37 Stimson Lumber Company gave $300,000 to help get Measure 37 passed in 2004. Once the Measure passed, the company filed Measure 37 claims amounting to $269 million across the state.

In total, Stimson Lumber has filed 131 claims for development in eight Oregon counties for housing subdivisions on 109,875 of forestland - which is over 171 square miles of requested new subdivisions in place of current forests.

Their claims lie in the coast range, towards the western reaches of Washington County down into Tillamook County (See map of Stimson's claims). If the taxpayers do not pay the $269 million—which they almost definitely cannot afford, due to lack of funds—Stimson Lumber reserves the right to tear up the pristine land to build sprawling subdivisions at any time.
